BACTS Staff To help you direct your inquiries to the right person, here are the people who have the answers (or can find them for you), with their areas of specialization.
Rob joined BACTS in 1995, with over 15 years of transportation engineering and planning experience with various consulting firms in Maine. Rob conducted various traffic studies and designed transportation projects throughout New England and Florida while in the consulting business. Rob received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Maine. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Maine and has attended numerous courses at Northwestern's Traffic Institute and the Federal Highway Administration. He is an active member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers at both the state and national level. Rob and his wife have three sons and live in Levant.
Don joined EMDC in 1996, to provide the Bangor Area Comprehensive Transportation System (BACTS) with transportation planning support, particularly in the fields of transit, alternative modes, public involvement, and travel demand modeling. In addition to his duties for BACTS, he also supplies transportation planning assistance outside the Greater Bangor Urbanized Area. His qualifications include a M.Eng. Transportation Planning & Traffic Engineering, and a B.Sc. Civil Engineering. Don resides in Lamoine, with his wife, and four children.
Dianne joined the EMDC team in August of 1999. She spent spent six years working with the Community Development Department as a Project Assistnat and CDBG Grant Administrator providing guidance and assistance to municipal officials within EMDC's six county region. In January 2006, she accepted her current position as a Transportation Technician with BACTS. This position has four principal areas of responsibility: collection and management of data; maintenance and use of computer models; assistance in performing various transportation studies; and working with various committees, organizations, consultants, municipalities and the public. Prior to working at EMDC, Dianne was the Office Manager at Northern Maine Construction Inc. Born and raised in Bangor, she graduated from Bangor High School and spent 3.5 years at Beal College.
